6. Cleaning and Maintenance

• Thenpulloutthelocationplate(70), (Fig. 60).

• Cleantheprintheadwithafoamswab,asde-

scribed in Chap. 6.2, "Cleaning the print head"

(see also Fig. 61).

• Aftercleaningtheprinthead,

insert a new transport plate

(73).

• Pushthe smalllever (69,

Fig. 59) back down into its

original position.

• Reclosethelidoftheprinter

and press any key; the print

head moves back into the

rest (park) position.

• Screw the red cap (85,

Fig. 58) to the shutter, close

it securely, and take the ink

cartridge out completely.

Always use the cleaning swab for the

print head once only. Never rotate the

swab—this can damage the nozzle

plate of the print head.

Important!

Turn the printer off and disconnect it from the power supply at this point to prevent damage to

the print head.

Never use a cleaning cartridge together with a location plate (70)!

Do not reinstall a used transport plate (73), as it will no longer completely seal the print head.
